Where to Find the Rib Armor Trim

Search Nether fortress loot chests for Rib. Each chest has a 1 in 15 chance (about 6.7%) to contain one template in Java 1.21 and Bedrock 1.21.0.

Guide scope: Minecraft 1.21. Chances refer to the container, archaeology roll, or mob drop described above.

How to Duplicate the Rib Armor Trim

Keep a spare before you start smithing. Combine one Rib armor trim smithing template, one Netherrack, and seven diamonds at a crafting table to make two templates.

1 Rib template+1 Netherrack+7 diamonds2 templates

Place the template in the top-middle slot and the duplication material in the center. Fill the remaining seven slots with diamonds. Applying a trim at a smithing table consumes one template; the pattern changes appearance, not armor protection.

Try the Rib Trim on Your Skin

Take Rib from a template in your inventory to a look you can actually see. Test the pattern on different armor bases and compare all ten trim materials.
